BDS have recently completed a Sponsorship Strategy for The Royal Drawing School. The Royal Drawing School is an independent, not-for-profit resource that aims to raise the standard and profile of drawing through teaching and practice. The School is one of only a few institutions in the world offering in-depth, quality tuition in drawing from observation.
The School runs an MA-level postgraduate scholarship programme, a fine art foundation course, fully-funded international artists’ residencies, a young artists programme for 10-18 year-olds, and over 250 different drawing courses for the public each year.
By offering tuition and resources to art students, artists, children and the public, the Royal Drawing School aims to address the permanent need for high-quality drawing teaching in the UK, filling a gap left by the steady erosion of observational drawing from the study of art in higher education and in schools. Their courses are taught by a specialist faculty of over 75 practising artists, and are committed to the continued training of future teachers of drawing.
